The road is expected to significantly ease the heavy traffic that is often experienced at the intersection of Magalang-Angeles Road and Don Aniceto Gueco Avenue.

Lazatin Steel Flyover Rehabilitation

Currently, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is reconstructing the Lazatin Steel Flyover at the intersection of Lazatin Avenue and Jose Abad Santos Avenue (formerly Gapan-San Fernando-Olongapo Road). This project is also expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

San Fernando-Lubao Road Section Improvement 

Moreover, the DPWH has recently completed the improvement of a 352.75-lineal-meter section of the San Fernando-Lubao Road in the Municipality of Lubao. This project involved the upgrading of the road’s surface and drainage system.

MacArthur Highway and Jose Abad Santos Avenue Traffic Management Plan

Also, the city government of San Fernando is crafting a traffic management plan to alleviate traffic congestion in the area around McArthur Highway and Jose Abad Santos Avenue. This plan is still in the development phase and may include measures such as rerouting traffic in Barangay San Jose, limiting truck volume, and improving traffic signalization.

Proposed North-South Bypass Road
